Lemon Goat Cheese Crostini | Vintner Sauvignon Blanc

Posted by Daniel Gora on

This four ingredient easy, breezy, appetizer will keep your time in the kitchen short, and hours enjoying the early bits of spring sunshine long. Goat cheeses’ naturally tangy profile is complemented by a bit of lemon zest and a touch of honey to tie it all together.

Wine Pairing: Vintner Sauvignon Blanc

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced diagonally into ⅓ inch pieces

  • 11 ounces goat cheese

  • ¼ cup honey

  • Zest of 1 lemon

  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Set baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside to let cool.
  3. Spread 1-2 tablespoons of goat cheese on each slice. Next drizzle about ½ teaspoon of honey on top, and then a sprinkle of lemon zest. Finish with a light pinch of flakey sea salt.

Why The Pairing Works

Sauvignon Blanc's crisp acidity balances the richness of the goat cheese, while lemon zest and honey echo the wine's citrus and fruit-forward profile. Each bite makes the wine feel even more vibrant.
