ONEHOPE Winery was designed by Howard Backen (1936–2024) — the most celebrated architect in Napa Valley history. Architectural Digest named him "the name most synonymous with California's vaunted Wine Country lifestyle" and inducted him into the AD100 Hall of Fame.
His signature farmhouse-chic style — reclaimed wood, stone, concrete, and an unwavering respect for the land — defined what Napa Valley looks like for three decades. Over his career he designed more than 60 wineries, 300+ residences, and 40+ restaurants, receiving the Presidential Award for Design Excellence and Fellowship of the AIA.
